Palmwood is extraordinarily abrasive on all sharp edge tools. This, coupled with its high density and very coarse grain make it difficult to work with. Section sizes are limiting but we have solid timber, veneers and hand cut oysters of oblique grain which show a curiously micro dotty effect.
